Thank you Charlie, for giving us some great simple recipes to try.   EnjoyProofing the yeast

• 3/4 cup water
• 1 tablespoon sugar
• 1 teaspoon yeast

Mix sugar in water. Heat in a microwave for 30 seconds.  Stir again. Add yeast. Stir.  Let it proof for 5 minutes.

Simple bread dough

• 2 cups flour (all-purpose, ½ white, ½ wheat, bread flour)
• 2 tablespoons butter
• salt (½ to 1 teaspoon)

Simple sweet dough

• 1 raw egg
• a small amount of additional white sugar
• Vanilla extract (to personal taste)

Add all of these to the dry ingredients prior to adding the proofed yeast. I use a food processor.  Place all dry ingredients and the butter/maragarine in the food processor.  Process to mix well.  When the yeast proofs, stir it again.  Start the food processor and slowly add the yeast mix until the dough forms into a ball and travels around the processor.  Let the food processor knead the dough for you.Oil a large bowl. Place the dough in the bowl. Move the dough about until it is covered in oil.Cover the dough with a damp cloth and allow to rise.  Dough will need to rise twice. Make it, twist, form it, add to it, and bake it.Have fun!

We had a very busy and fun day.We started out by exploring the Space Needle and the Science Fiction and AMP music museum. We got a great view of Seattle. It was a bit windy on the outside but nice and toasty inside. From there we saw the “Jimmy Hendrix Experience”. The kids couldn’t understand why mom and dad were excited over a long dead guitarist. I bought a Hendrix CD in the gift shop to “educate” them on the ride.We headed down to the “Other Vancouver”, to meet the 2 Guys 1 Brain folks. Washington is a beauiful state. It reminds us of driving through northen Wisconsin but with mountains. After a short swim break we headed to the Poker Tournament.We had a great evening and connected with some great people. Josh got to play drums and got some drumsticks. Julie took 11th in the tournament. Dale didn’t do so well.Today is Easter. Happy Easter and Passover to you. On deck is Easter Brunch and more fun.Dale

This was the first time any of the kids were ever in an airport or on an airplane. Their first experience flying was on a small regional jet for the 15 minute flight from Milwaukee to Chicago. Olivia captured the experience in one word: Awesome.

The flight from Chicago to Seattle was long…. We watched the Blindside (some of use for the second time). We met Boscoe, a small black poodle mix that was the companion of the person sitting next to us. We also had snacks courtesy of a very nice flight antendant. Thank you Sooo much.

The day ended with a trip to Claim Jumpers for dinner, with a western flare. After dinner, we went swimming while Julie worked out, of course.

Today the Space Needle and going to meet the clan from Two Guys 1 Brain (www.2g1b.com).

Julie’s biking season has officially begun.   She has gotten the bike fixed already ridden tons of miles.    July is training for Scenic Shore 150 and maybe others.

Dale is taking job search “nationwide”.  Dale is getting more interviews.   One in person interview looks promising… Keep you fingers crossed!!!

Tech Segment:  Dale gets new 1TB home network backup system.  It is cool and Dale is still having issues but it is still cool.

You would think, after over three years of doing thing Podcast and New Media thing, I would have learn what not to put in your podcast title.  But I didn’t.   You might notice that the title for Badger Cast #2 has changed (At least here on the Blog).  The title of episode 2 was SOOO popular that I got over 3500 response in November and December Alone!  However all 3500 were spam.
